Kickstart The Phoenix Project

The Phoenix Project is our new citywide dance project this spring that empowers older adults and reevaluates the aesthetics of aging. We are celebrating dance and the beauty of age.

The PHOENIX PROJECT will be seen in three neighborhoods of New York City, The New York Botanical Garden in the Bronx on Saturday, June 4, celebrating its 125 year anniversary; in selected sections at the Queensbridge Riis Community Center in Long Island City on Saturday, June 11; and as a Family Day event with Riverside Park in Harlem at the West Harlem Piers Park. The project is being created in collaboration with legendary older dance artists in their 70s, 80s and 90s, and free participatory dance workshops for underserved older adults in all three boroughs.
