In-Person Dance Classes

for Older Adults

DVP offers welcoming, accessible in-person dance classes designed for older adults of all abilities. Whether you are new to movement or returning after time away, our classes provide a supportive space to explore creativity, connection, and joyful movement.

You are always encouraged to move in ways that feel comfortable for you, whether seated, standing, or a combination of both.

  • DVP’s signature class is Movement Speaks®, a creative movement methodology developed specifically for older adults. It emphasizes self-expression, adaptability, and personal choice rather than memorizing steps or performing choreography.

Movement Speaks® classes invite participants to explore movement in ways that feel natural and meaningful, making them accessible for people with a wide range of abilities and experience levels.

  • While most classes use the Movement Speaks® methodology, some are offered as specialty classes—such as fitness-based sessions or technique-focused dance classes.

Specialty classes are clearly noted in the schedule so you can easily choose what feels right for you. All classes remain welcoming, supportive, and adaptable.

  • DVP’s in-person classes are FREE to attend!

A small number of specialty classes may have a modest fee, which will always be listed alongside the class details in the schedule.

A one time FREE annual registration is required, which you can do HERE, or on-site with our teaching artists.
