for Seniors

Dance. Connect. Celebrate.

Dances for Seniors adapts our annual Revival performances into an hour-long performance perfect for senior centers and spaces of all sizes! The performance also includes interactive movement activities from our renowned Movement Speaks® classes, getting everyone moving in community and celebration!

Dances for Seniors is choreographed by legendary elders in the New York dance community and performed by older adults from senior centers across New York. Experience the joy of live performance and also receive skilled facilitation in dance workshops that support seniors’ fitness, mobility, and emotional well-being. This 1 hour 15 minute experience emphasizes artistry, creativity, appreciation of the body, and a celebration of community.

Fall 2025 Season

This year's Dances for Seniors is based on our Revival 9: Neighborhood Stories performances, which was a collection of dances based on stories from DVP’s senior participants about their neighborhoods. Our intergenerational dance company toured through Grant's Tomb, Queensbridge Park, and Washington Square Park. You can find a read up about this year's performance in thINKingDance here.
