Dances for a Variable Population proudly presents REVIVAL 10: Retrospective, a public performance of DVP’s multigenerational dance company. This landmark celebration honors 20 years of DVP and the legacy of founder and Artistic Director Naomi Goldberg Haas.

REVIVAL 10: Retrospective features iconic choreography from the past 10 years of REVIVAL by Goldberg Haas, and legendary NYC-based choreographers and long-time collaborators- Audrey Madison, Ellen Graff, Shirley Black-Brown Coward, Myna Majors, and Kathy Sanson. Up to 50 older adult dancers from DVP's free ongoing Movement Speaks® programs across NYC will bring to life a joyful retrospective of movement and community.

The evening includes a FREE 45-minute performance, followed by an interactive All-Together Dance Workshop where dancers, choreographers, and audience members unite in an upbeat, physically accessible movement experience that culminates in a celebratory dance party for all!

REVIVAL 10: Retrospective is a moving tribute to Goldberg Haas's 20-year vision, the power of intergenerational dance, and the vibrant spirit of older adult artists across New York City.

NAOMI GOLDBERG HAAS is the founding artistic director of Dances for a Variable Population (DVP) since 2005, which promotes strong & creative movement among adults of all ages and abilities. DVP’s model of community creative aging education program MOVEMENT SPEAKS® has served 25,000 older adults in NYC and is a model in best practices for creative aging in community-based performance and education programs for older adults. Goldberg Haas has been a leader in the field of creative aging, starting with founding the successful intergenerational and mixed ability dance company, Los Angeles Modern Dance & Ballet (1990- 2004). She danced with Pacific Northwest Ballet and holds an MFA from Tisch Dance/NYU. Goldberg Haas received LMCC President’s Award for Performing Arts (2014), served on the Age Friendly Media, Arts & Culture Working Group (2015–2018). She received the DANCE USA 2019–20 Fellowship for Artists addressing Social Change.

In February 2023, she received the NYSDEA Lifetime Impact in Dance Education award in recognition of her Extraordinary Life-long Imprint on Dance and Dance Education community. Her company was awarded the 2024 Outstanding Dance Organization award from NDEO.  In 2026, NY State Senator, Erik Bottcher awarded Naomi Goldberg Haas with her own day May 5th as an annual celebration of her enduring legacy in the arts and cultural impact to the people of NY state, over her lifetime and beyond.

Her book “Moving Through Life: Essential Lessons of Dance” was recently published in March 2025 by University of Florida Press. The book is a memoir of her life and a reason for all persons to study dance for renewal, growth and creativity.
